CADCAI Is starting Chinese language classes for members in February 2019. Make an effort today to benefit your child’s future tomorrow. CADCAI is currently seeking enrolments from students aged from 4 years to 18 years old. Classes will be 40 mins long and divided into 3 levels - beginner, middle and advanced. Experienced and suitably qualified teachers will deliver a fun, varied program which will include : listening, speaking, reading , writing, poetry, singing and dancing. Students will have the opportunity to participate in various Chinese cultural activities and CADCAI will provide a platform for students to perform and practise their Chinese language skills. Classes start on 2 February 2019 - the first semester is 10 weeks long. Cost: $10 per lesson. One night only performance presented by the visiting Diqing State Folk and Dance Troupe from Yunnan Province, China. Diqing is located at the junction of Yunnan, Sichuan and Tibet and is the only autonomous Tibetan prefecture in Yunnan,  birthplace of the mysterious Shangri-la culture,  Naxi Dongba culture and sacred place of Tibetan Buddhism.

Presented by the Japanese Society of Cairns the annual Bon Dance Festival features a range cultural performances, delicious Japanese food, and the opportunity to join in communal Bon Dancing around the Yagura Stage.

A Cairns Father’s Day tradition! Join in this annual street party celebrated in the Tanks Arts Centre and Cairns Botanic Gardens Precinct. This year’s event will feature, site specific theatre performance The Magic Garden, roving acts including carnival favourite Uptown Brown and silent disco tours with T-Mar Superstar. The mainstage will host Maggie Helena, Los Caracoles and The Taste and families can head to Tank 3 to visit the Wild Zone to see venomous creatures up close. There will also be free art and craft workshops and over 200 markets stalls featuring plants, arts, crafts and more. A main feature on the Cairns Festival program, Carnival on Collins is a waste-wise event. TIME: 9:00am - 3:00pm This event is always popular. If you can’t find a park, try Greenslopes Street and enjoy a stress-free walk through Centenary Lakes.

Whatever your doing this night cancel it! There is not much that can compare with an evening in good company sharing sumptuous Chinese food.
