The Chinese Lunar Festival is known in China as the Mid-Autumn Festival, we chose to call it the Chinese Lunar Festival so as not to confuse people since it is actually Spring in the Southern Hemisphere. The festival celebrates unity and family bonds and is considered the most important festival of the year by many Chinese families. This event is BYO so there is no cost to attend, everyone is asked to bring a plate of food to share with everyone else.

At this festival it is traditonal to bring and light up colourful lanterns which are paraded by the children and adult too!

For your convenience here is a checklist of what not to forget : -

Your own plates, cups and cutlery

Drinks (an esky with ice will be provided) don't forget to put your Name on it.

Something to sit on - ie picnic blanket, chairs etc.

Friends and family.

A plate of food to share

A healthy appitite.

And a beautiful lantern (optional, however traditional, hand-made is ususally better)
